Troy Roenfanz

Raised in a small town, Ventura, Iowa, I played football, basketball, and track in high school, focusing on basketball in college. I am the first person in my family to receive a bachelor’s and master’s degree.

Married to Amy for 22 years, we’re blessed with two adopted children from China, Ty, and Remy, born with cleft lip and palate. In 2015, we relocated to Waco to attend Antioch Discipleship School, where I became a licensed minister. For the past six years, I have been a Social Studies Teacher at C.H. Yoe High School in Cameron, Texas.

My goal for TEAM Waco is to encourage my teammates to greatness and have fun completing the Ironman 70.3 Waco together. TEAM Waco will help tremendously by giving me the financial, coaching and team support I have always wanted through my journey to Ironman Waco this fall and beyond.

I am looking forward to sharing my journey with my high school students, co-workers and fellow Wacoans in order to inspire them to live healthy lifestyles. This race is one more step closer to my lifelong dream of completing a Full IRONMAN 140.6 since I was ten years old.I am excited for them to have the opportunity to watch me cross that finish line and see that anyone can complete an IRONMAN and it’s never too late to fulfill a life-long dream.
