ike Vogelaar has returned to his roots here in Waco. Despite being born in Holland and living in Austria, Colorado, and Florida- he and his family call Texas “Home.” Mike attended Baylor University and graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Hankamer School of Business with a bachelor’s degree from the S3 Program (Sport Sponsorship & Sales).
Prior to joining The Greater Waco Sports Commission, Mike lived in the Dallas area for the last 13 years and worked for Daktronics in their sports marketing division, DSM. Over his time there he worked with over 80+ school districts across Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, and Mississippi helping build master marketing plans for their communities.
Mike moved with his family to Waco to build back into the community that he and his family have loved so much. He’s excited about bringing events for all the community to enjoy at all the fantastic facilities the Waco area has to offer and help make Waco the preferred sports destination in Texas!
Mike and his wife, Katy, have 4 kids: Maddie, Khloe, Kirby, and Kit. When they aren’t at their kid’s events, they enjoy serving at their church, Harris Creek, and providing mentoring to pre-married and newly married couples. In his free time, Mike enjoys running, playing sports, attending Baylor events, and being active outdoors with his family.
